The AGC San Diego Chapter and the construction industry suffered a great loss with the news that Don and Patty McKillop were in a fatal multi-vehicle crash on Saturday, May 21 while traveling cross country. Don McKillop of Law Offices of Donald R. McKillop, was an active member of the AGC for decades serving on committees for the Affiliate Council, Meetings and Events, Affiliate Day Golf, and the Baseball Bash. Don also served as AGC San Diego’s Legal Counsel since 1992 and was recognized twice with its prestigious President’s Award in 2007 and 2019. In 30 years as Legal Counsel, Don advised 29 AGC Board Presidents and three chapter executives to help AGC San Diego navigate many challenges and opportunities in good times and bad. Due to his long tenure, Don was also the unofficial chapter parliamentarian and historian – his institutional knowledge will be greatly missed. Don and Patty were both regular attendees and volunteers at AGC functions and especially enjoyed the Annual Spring Conference, including this year’s event in early May at La Quinta Resort. They enjoyed sharing stories from AGC past, and for the past 5 years, the joy of grandkids. Having developed many lasting friendships within the AGC, Don and Patty will be sorely missed by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing them. AGC sends its deepest condolences to the McKillop Family. Offer sympathy or share a memory of Don and Patty on the Legacy page.
